Frontiers in Environmental Science Publication

We would like to congratulate our ANDROMEDA research partners at SINTEF Ocean on their recent publication ‘Current State of Microplastic Pollution Research Data: Trends in Availability and Sources of Open Data’. This paper, which represents a collaborative effort across 17 institutes, assessed 785 microplastics articles that were indexed in the Web of Science citation database, to present a ‘bibliographic analysis of data sharing practices in the environmental microplastics research community.’

This work was primarily funded by the SERC/ECCC Alliance Grants—Plastics science for a cleaner future program (Grant Agreement #: ALLRP 558435-20). Additional funding support is also acknowledged from the following: the Canada First Research Excellence Fund Global Water Futures Programme, the McPike Zima Charitable, the PoF IV program “Changing Earth—Sustaining our Future” Topic 6.4 of the German Helmholtz Association, the Research Council of Norway projects REVEAL (Grant agreement #.301157), ANDROMEDA (Grant agreement # 312262), MicroLEACH (Grant agreement #. 295174), the Early-Career Research Fellowship from the Gulf Research Program of the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (Grant agreement # 2000012639), and from European Union’s Horizon 2020 Coordination and Support Action programme under Grant agreement 101003805 (EUROqCHARM).

This article represents the second ANDROMEDA publication of 2022, and our seventh to date and is now available to access via Frontiers in Environmental Science.
